With all the attacks we're seeing from the other side on women's health, not to mention Mitt Romney's recent remark that he would "get rid of" Planned Parenthood, there's so much at stake for women in this election.
And for three years now, Republicans and insurance companies have been spending millions of dollars attacking health care reform, leaving too many people confused about what we've accomplished and how the Affordable Care Act benefits them.
That's where you come in. Over the last week in March, as part of a national women's week of action, folks across the country will be hosting Women for Obama parties to talk with other women who may not know exactly how health care reform is making a difference for them and their families.
Can you host a party for women you know in Berlin to talk about how health care reform is helping them?
A lot of people might not know that, thanks to the Affordable Care Act, millions of women can now get affordable preventive care, when they couldn't before -- and that care includes many services, from mammograms to birth control. Or they might not have heard that this new law will bar insurance companies from charging women up to 50 percent more than men for coverage.
Especially on personal issues like health care, women like to hear from people they know and trust -- friends, colleagues, and neighbors. This means that the best messenger for the women you know is you.
We'll make it easy to get your event planned and organized, and we'll help you prepare for the conversations you'll have that night. You'll have everything you need to get your party together, from online tools for sending invites to sample agendas and tips on how to talk about the progress we've made.
I bet you know a lot of women in Berlin who should be a part of this conversation -- and you're the best person to reach out and ask them to join in.
So what do you say? Can you be one of the people who steps up to host one of these parties?
Let me know if you can:
